So we all know that McCain's big thing against Obama is to say he's not experienced enough, especially with foreign policy matters. With the debate raging about US presence in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, you'd think we'd want our future president to at least know which countries still exist in the world. Yea, well, guess which one doesn't. Seriously. I'd rather have someone with slightly fewer years experience as long as he is somewhat aware of what is going on outside his precious US borders.

Ok you knew I was going to comment here...
1. If every word out of your mouth for a year was recorded, you would make mistakes too. Presidential candidates, on both sides of the aisle, (look at Al Gore's famous mistakes involving the internet) have been having these verbal hiccups forever. To point and laugh may be funny but its not serious fodder for discussion of the experience or foriegn policy issues.
2. To suggest that Senator Obama has "slightly fewer years experience" is disingenuous.
Senator Obama has served less than 4 years in the senate, Senator McCain was elected to the Senate in 1986. (thats nearly two decades more than Obama for those keeping score at home). Furthermore, as only one example of specific foreign poilicy experience, as of yesterday, according to CNN, Obama has never spoken to General Petraeus or visited Iraq.
If Senator Obama's experience is a bucket of water, Senator McCain's is swimming pool.
I would simply ask you find a single serious reporter or academic (not a blogger, no offense) who is out there writing that Obama even competes with John McCain in the experience category.
3. I would be happy to talk about the foreign policy issues, the candidates positions on those issues, and the strengths and weaknesses of those positions. But lets not cut off debate and call the election because Senator McCain mis-spoke.
"Misspeaking" would be accidentally referring to the Czech Republic as Czechoslovakia once. Not twice!! How can you be taken seriously as a candidate for the leader of the US if you don't even know that a country hasn't existed for 15 years. Fine, he's been in the Senate longer. But that doesn't mean he has any idea what is going on in the rest of the world. And Al Gore making some dumb reference to inventing the internet is not the same as making a reference to a non-existent country - twice.
Oh, and obviously I'm not actually advocating the end to a foreign policy debate...damn, you republicans really need to learn to understand sarcasm.
Just in case we needed another reminder...George Bush is seriously smoking crack. Probably free basing.
