Top Ten

Now that I have an hour+ commute (one-way), I spend a lot of time reading the paper and listening to my iPod.
Here's my Top Ten of what I'm listening to right now. My iTunes library is huge (especially now thanks to Al), but this is just a current list. It will probably change in about two days. It is also in no particular order.

  1. Drive-By Truckers: Two Daughters and a Beautiful Wife (Unca D - if you don't have this song, or this band, get it now; I guarantee you'll like it.)
  2. T.I. ft. Rihanna: Live Your Life
  3. Arrested Development: Mr. Wendal (a throw-back to when I was about 8, but still great)
  4. Dolly Parton: Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?
  5. Atmosphere: The Skinny
  6. M. Ward: Poison Cup
  7. Hi-Tek: Tired
  8. Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Y Control (Obie alums!)
  9. Ryan Adams ft. Emmylou Harris: Oh My Sweet Carolina
  10. Lupe Fiasco ft. Jill Scott: Daydreamin'

Gee, I wonder who "you have no idea said..." could be... maybe the infamous anonymous commenter is back? Hope so.

“you have no idea”

Contrary to what you may have been taught to believe, those who adhere to conservative political philosophies do not sit around all day listening to Toby Keith. Furthermore I am quite capable of understanding and making my own determinations, without your help, as to what message a particular form of art is trying to convey.

I suppose you can use the opportunity insinuate that I am ignorant or that if I were intelligent and just ‘searched my soul,’ by listening to the Truckers, then I would come to the obviously correct position and become a liberal.

Instead I think that I will pass on your suggestion and politely encourage you not to be so close minded regarding those who disagree with you.

Have a nice day.

lmfao.

i suppose yhni mistook the reason for orp's initial shock. so, what is the reason then? although it is flawed, your name alone does somewhat suggests that you couldn't believe an extremely liberal female would listen to dbt. which brings me to my next query, have you really listened to dbt? interpretations aside? even though everyone is free to listen to whatever they like, it is certainly atypical for a liberal to tune into limbaugh, in the same sense that a conservative spins dbt. again, i suppose that is shocking.

I DEFINITELY agree with onerepublicanfriend in this debate. I also don't think it had anything to do with my politics (why would he not believe a liberal female would listen to them...?) - I'm sure it had something to do with the conversations we used to have during which ORF would accuse me of being a hipster, so I'm sure his shock derives from me listing non-hipster music. Also, I don't think you should compare listening to a talk-show host that doesn't agree with your politics to a band that doesn't...that just doesn't really make any sense.

And instead of arguing over what Republicans should listen to, can we just talk about how awesome all of those songs are....

Nice playlist B. One of my favorite things to do is browse someone's iPod, so I actually find this somewhat more interesting than bickering about politics. Like ORF, I was a bit surprised at one thing on the list - Dolly Parton. You told me of your fondness for her a while back, and I still don't quite get it. I guess you really are just a Backwoods Barbie...

fyi - I have all of the Drive-By Truckers if you're interested.
